Thieves use $2.3M in counterfeit money to shake down cryptocurrency millionaire

Another Bitcoin millionaire has caught in an elaborate cryptocurrency plot. A South Korean businessman has exchanged $2.3M worth of Bitcoin for cash – only to find the banknotes were cheap, poorly printed fakes. The setting was the glitzy French riviera, the sunny coastal town of Nice. The target – a South Korean businessman, owner of a successful cryptocurrency business in Singapore. A Serbian man and his accomplice are alleged to have convinced the businessman to part with Bitcoin fortune, armed with  €2 million ($2.3M) in counterfeit notes. Huawei caught passing off a DSLR photo as a Nova 3 shot

In a recent advertisement, Huawei attempted to pass off a DSLR photo as shot by its Nova 3i phone, Android Police reported based on a tip-off from Redditor AbdullahSab3. The act of deception came to light after an actor uploaded behind-the-scene photos from the shoot on her Instagram account. In the phone’s commercial, a man tries to take a selfie with his partner played by actor Sarah Elshamy. Elshamy’s character tries to apply some makeup before they take a picture, but the man snaps the shutter before she can do so. When she looks at the photo, she’s surprised to discover…

Addressing the spread of misinformation on Twitter, CEO Jack Dorsey told CNN’s Brian Stelter over the weekend that the company isn’t in a hurry to begin proactively taking down fake news posted on its platform. He added that “it would be dangerous for a company like ours to be the arbiters of truth;” this follows Twitter’s temporary suspension of conspiracy theorist Alex Jones last week, after other platforms like YouTube and Facebook booted him off their properties. It was good to see Dorsey shed some light on how he’s thinking about tackling these obviously difficult questions concerning abuse and misinformation on…
