The magic really happens when you add context: conversations between characters, which form a deeper connection between people, place, and timing. Get it wrong? The story falls flat, and you lose your audience. People, place, timing. These…

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak has apparently revealed that he is finally working closely with a cryptocurrency – and if the reports are true, oh boy, could he have chosen better. Wozniak, now a popular tech-celeb, has been attending blockchain conferences more and more. Recently, it has been noted that his interest has been piqued so much that he was now working with a blockchain project – Equi Capital, a startup who has issued an Ethereum token that supposedly makes investing more accessible. “I’m involved with, very soon, my first time being involved in a blockchain company. [It’s] called Equi. Our approach…

Facebook is reportedly working on an Amazon Echo and Google Home killer, codenamed Aloha, which would pair a video chat service with an AI assistant. Now, thanks to some clever reverse engineering, we’ve got a sense for what this will look like. Jane Manchun Wong, a prodigous reverse engineer who has uncovered hidden gems in popular apps like Slack and Facebook, stumbled across this feature within the standard Android Facebook Messenger app. Facebook Messenger Voice Assistant UI pic.twitter.com/DOMe4Nsg7v — Jane Manchun Wong (@wongmjane) August 21, 2018 Right now, it’s pretty barebones. The only thing that works is the UI, along…

Forget smart speakers — AR headsets are the true home for AI assistants

In an interview with The Verge, Magic Leap CEO Rony Abovitz revealed that his company will be working on two AI assistants for its much-anticipated augmented reality headset Magic Leap One, which shipped to developers in select cities this month. Many companies have already exaggerated the capabilities of their artificial intelligence features to create hype around their products and services and secure funding for their companies. Therefore, it is only natural to take Magic…
