Things won’t be getting any easier for Wall Street’s crypto-traders. Goldman Sachs is ditching its proposed cryptocurrency trading desk, citing yet more regulatory anxiety. BusinessInsider reports Goldman Sachs big-wigs recently shelved plans for a cryptocurrency trading desk. Instead, it will be focusing on its custodial service for industry players. It seems protecting cryptocurrency is more straightforward than selling it. Typically, larger investors are drawn to trading desks operated by respected industry figures, rather than the public cryptocurrency exchanges like Binance. Purchasing Bitcoin from someone like Goldman Sachs supposedly makes cryptocurrency easier to stomach, particularly when concerned with being exposed “dirty”…

ShapeShift’s new identity policy is tearing the cryptocurrency community apart

Cryptocurrency exchange desk ShapeShift recently announced that it’s abandoning its “no accounts” model of trading, and the community is not impressed. ShapeShift currently allows users to trade digital assets on its exchange without having to register or signup, but it will soon require them to verify their “basic personal information” as part of its new “loyalty program.” It’s likely that the increasing regulatory hurdles are the reason behind ShapeShift’s decision, but the company hasn’t made any official statement on it. Chinese smartphone company Xiaomi launched three smartphones that are part of its new Redmi 6 series today in India. That includes the Redmi 6A, the Redmi 6, and the Redmi 6 Pro, with prices ranging from $84 to $154. While the 6 Pro is a new model in Xiaomi’s budget lineup, the other two handsets are merely iterations of their predecessors from last year.
