Spotify started rolling out its Wrapped year-end billboards, where it blasts out trivia about its users and occasionally calls out the stranger ones. Most of the facts are hilarious, though it does remain a bit creepy just how much the company is willing to reveal. spotify used their data to create some very weird holiday ads and they’re incredible pic.twitter.com/NfoCDov7OC — juan (@juanbuis) November 28, 2018 This will be the company‘s third year doing the Wrapped campaign, and it gets weirder and funnier each year. The most relatable one, for me, reads, “The fan-made ‘I don’t give a s*** what…

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) today filed a motion with a Federal court requesting documents pertaining to an FBI attempt to force Facebook to hack its own Messenger service be unsealed. The US Department of Justice (DOJ) unsuccessfully tried to order Facebook to alter its Messenger code earlier this year. The request came as part of an FBI case against alleged MS-13 gang members accused of violent crimes. What the government sought at the time was access to encrypted Messenger calls. According to reports from Reuters and the Washington Post, a judge denied the request and a subsequent motion…

Project Fi is now Google Fi as it adds support for iPhones and more devices

In the three years since its launch, Google’s Project Fi has one of the most reasonable phone plans out there, but it’s been tough to recommend because the service is compatible with so few phones. That’s changing today: the company is adding support for a whole lot more phones, including official iPhone compatibility for the first time. To prove its serious about this network enterprise, Project Fi is also getting a new, more official name: Google Fi. As recap, Fi operates primarily on the T-Mobile and Sprint Networks, offers a truly sensible data plan in which you just pay for what you use, and…

Google’s CEO is going to Washington DC – He should stay there

Nov28
by Sindy Cator on November 28, 2018 at 7:05 pm

Google CEO Sundar Pichai will reportedly testify before Congress in Washington DC next week. Finally, the GOP will get to ask all the stupid questions related to President Trump’s conspiracy theory that Search is biased against conservatives. The Washington Post broke the exciting news yesterday: at least three sources close to the matter believe Pichai will actually show up this time. And, if he does, it’ll certainly be a jolly medley of dumb, dumber, and dumber-er. Dumb People who believe that Google secretly buries “good” news stories about Trump and other self-proclaimed “conservatives,” can rest assured GOP members of the…

Catering to Millennials by Improving Those Outdated CRM Models

Nov28
by Sindy Cator on November 28, 2018 at 6:30 pm
Posted In: Around the Web, Contributors

Millennials are notoriously discerning when it comes to evaluating emerging apps and technologies. Customer Relationship Management (CRM) of major industries from airlines to hotels are increasingly emphasizing how to reach the millennial generation better as it expands its presence in the global workforce and consumer markets. A primary target of improving CRM for millennials is enhancing user interfaces for a generation that has grown up with the Internet. Intuitive interfaces for popular apps today are a significant contributor to their success and, despite this, it’s still reasonably stunning how outdated some systems and everyday processes remain. According to a study…
