An American businesses man is still missing even though his family have paid kidnappers a ransom of nearly $950,000 in Bitcoin. William Sean Creighton Kopko, the owner of an online gambling platform, was snatched whilst in Costa Rica during September last year, TVNZ reports. Police in Spain and Costa Rica have arrested a total of 12 individuals thought to be involved in the kidnapping of the missing American. Despite this, Costa Rican authorities say that the victim is still missing. After Kopko’s family paid the Bitcoin ransom, the kidnappers stopped communicating with them, went dark, and fled to Cuba. In…

WriteMapper 2 is a flexible, dead-simple desktop app for mind mapping

I’ve been using mind maps more often lately, to plan feature stories, as well as for household maintenance and hobby projects. I tested a bunch of web apps like Mindmeister and Bubbl over the past few weeks, and I liked a couple of them enough. But I’m especially digging WriteMapper, which is available for Windows, macOS, and iPad. The desktop app is great for creating simple or complex mind maps. It’s a breeze to navigate through nodes without ever touching your mouse – you…

Cryptocurrency traders in Denmark will be facing increased scrutiny. It comes after the country’s tax agency was granted permission to begin collecting data relating to cryptocurrency trades made through three exchanges between 2016 and 2018. A statement published on the agency’s website says this is the first time the Tax Authority has been granted access to this information. As a result, exchanges will need to provide information including traders’ names, addresses, total trade amount made in fiat and virtual currency, fees paid, and personal tax numbers. However, the information sharing may not be welcomed by bitcoin enthusiast, who fervently defend the…

Last week, Twitter announced that it’ll launch a new beta program to test out its upcoming features to reshape how conversations take place on the platform. Now, we have our first look at the upcoming features thanks to TechCrunch, and frankly, the interface looks like a multicolor mess. First up is Twitter‘s stacked conversation feature. The company said it’s going to color-code replies in the future to differentiate responses from the original poster of the tweet, people whom you follow, and people whom you don’t. While the screenshot below shows us very vibrant colors, Twitter‘s product head Sara Haider told TechCrunch…
