"DSK and Schwarzenegger have once again shown that the nature of Man is to reach great heights, and collapse. So too is the nature of massive state economies and bumbling NGOs fat on entitlements, especially when those are led by repeat sex offenders and philanderers." ~ Yasha Harari

Seattle-based cryptocurrency exchange Bittrex is “saddened and disappointed” by the New York Department of Financial Services’ (NYDFS) rejection of its BitLicense application. In its official statement, Bittrex said it fully disputed the findings of the NYDFS decision. “First, and foremost, we adamantly disagree with NYDFS’ claims and allegations in regard to our anti-money laundering (AML) and compliance practices. Corporate responsibility is in our DNA and our commitment to regulatory and compliance guidelines is second to none. More specifically, today’s letter contains several factual inaccuracies that we feel must be addressed,” said the company.  News of the rejection surfaced yesterday, after the NYDFS claimed several…

The Brussels-based NGO, European Emergency Number Association (EENA), has launched Next Generation 112 (NG112), a new pan-European technical architecture to enable emergency calls through new technologies like VoIP and video calls from smartphones, 5G devices, and home speakers. “Currently emergency services are only reachable by voice telephone calls. 5G, IoT, and smart cities are arriving and public safety could benefit from these technologies — but with the current only-voice-traditional-telephony this won’t work,” said Cristina Lumbreras, EENA’s Technical Director, of the year-long pilot project. “Emergency services have to change their technology if they want to be part of the future, and…

Instagram is demoting posts to hide offensive and sexually explicit content

Yesterday, Instagram announced that it will start demoting content that doesn’t violate its Community Guidelines, but might be ‘inappropriate.’ The announcement says that posts that are ‘sexually suggestive’, ‘hurtful’, or ‘violent’ can be removed from discovery sections and hashtag pages.
