3 best ways to optimize your B2B sales funnel

Apr30

Your B2B sales funnel is an incredibly important part of your business, but it’s also one of the most difficult to measure when it comes to efficiency. There are so many variables at play — including how efficient your software is, how effective your content is, and how persuasive your salespeople are — that it can be difficult to know how you’re doing. Frustration around how to measure your sales cycle can often be compounded by the fact that your lead’s behavior and needs are changing. As technology advances, every company must try to keep up — and some are…

Can we trust Ireland to enforce GDPR on big tech?

Apr30

Posted In: Around the Web, Opinion, world

GDPR is complicated business; even people like me who try to keep up with all its developments struggle to understand this mammoth set of European regulations and its effects. I believe one of the main reasons for that is we’ve yet to see a proper GDPR case being brought against big tech companies like Facebook and Google — the companies GDPR should protect us from. This isn’t all too serious just yet, as findings are expected in the next few months. But Politico’s extensive new investigation from last week — ‘How one country blocks the world on data privacy’ —…

Vitalik Buterin schools Elon Musk on Ethereum’s best use-cases

The most recent conversation between Elon Musk and Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin seems to have shifted from trolling to legitimate discussion. Earlier this morning, the Tesla founder mysteriously tweeted “Ethereum.” Seven minutes later, he took it back with a cheeky “jk” (‘just kidding.’) Musk continued to poke fun, even after Buterin invited him to attend an Ethereum developer’s conference. Now, Musk actually asked Buterin a serious question: what’s Ethereum good for? What should be developed on Ethereum? — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) April 30, 2019 “A globally accessible financial system, including payments, store of value, also more advanced stuff like insurance,” said…

Australia’s taxman is clamping down on cryptocurrency traders

Australia is clamping down on the taxation of cryptocurrencies. The country’s tax office is collecting bulk records from Australian cryptocurrency service providers as part of a data matching scheme to make sure traders are paying the correct amount of tax. Data matching is an administrative and law enforcement tool whereby information from a variety of third-party sources is compiled electronically, validated, and analyzed to enable people to do things such as pre-filing their tax returns. In its statement, the Australian Tax Office (ATO) says it is estimated that 500,000 to 1,000,000 Australians have invested in crypto-assets. “The ATO uses third party…

What World War II can teach us about fighting fake news

With local and European elections just mere days away, the UK government is heavily promoting its S.H.A.R.E Checklist campaign across social media, which warns against the dangers of proliferating fake news. Just because a story is online, doesn’t mean it’s true. The internet is great, but it can be used to spread misleading news and content.Make sure you know what you’re sharing. Don’t feed the beast. Use the S.H.A.R.E checklist. — Cabinet Office (@cabinetofficeuk) April 15, 2019 “Just because a story is online, doesn’t mean it’s true,” says a tweet from the Cabinet Office’s official account promoting the campaign. “The…
