Early this year, Apple’s former user experience evangelist and UI designer Mark Kawano launched an iPad storytelling app Storehouse. Now a new app has surfaced that has pretty much the same concept as Storehouse, but is available instead for your iPhone and iPod Touch. Steller is a free storytelling app developed by Mombo Labs, which lets you create photo and video stories with an emphasis on design. It has been in beta for several months but has just launched on Apple’s App Store today in North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. ‘Wonder’ wants to take on YouTube with a new ad-free video platform for exclusive lifestyle content

Amazon AppStream is now open to all developers to build complex apps running from the cloud

Last year, Amazon Web Services unveiled a new service, AppStream, which would run high-resource apps including “3D games and interactive HD applications” from the cloud. Now Amazon is opening up AppStream to all developers (via VentureBeat). In an announcement today, Amazon says interested developers can use AppStream to build complex apps that run from simple devices, as they won’t be constrained by the compute power, storage or graphical rendering capabilities of the devices.
