Skype for Xbox One gets synced chats, push notifications, contact filtering for who is online, and more

Skype today released the first update for its Xbox One app, adding new features and squashing a bunch of bugs. The new version is rolling out gradually, but if you don’t see it on your console you should be able to grab it soon. First and foremost, Skype says it has improved the chat component. If you’re using Skype on your computer, phone, or tablet as well as your Xbox One, the app should now keep your conversations in sync. UK retailer Morrisons suffers payroll data theft affecting “thousands” of staff

UK supermarket chain Morrisons has confirmed that it is looking into a data breach that saw “thousands” of staff payroll details posted to a website, revealing details of pay grades and bank account information. Regarding the data theft, Morrisons today said: On Thursday 13th March Morrisons was made aware that data from its staff payroll system had been stolen, published on the internet and sent on a disc to a newspaper. This data theft included bank account details.  Morrisons immediately ensured it was taken off the website. Ride-sharing services Lyft and Uber X will now insure drivers in-between fares

The issue of insurance has been a thorny one for ride-sharing services including Lyft and Uber — when their drivers are between fares, it becomes a gray area regarding responsibilities in the case of an accident. Today both companies have taken steps to address such problems. On-demand ride-sharing startup Lyft announced today that its insurance will cover drivers even at times when they are not providing rides. This comes after it introduced additional insurance coverage in February, providing for uninsured or underinsured motorists, as well as cases of collision.
