The Wall Street Journal has a rare inside look at Apple’s internal workings through its interview with original iPhone software engineer Greg Christie. According to the newspaper, it’s the first time that Christie has opened up about the project. UK mobile operator EE has introduced a new range of tariffs and a low-cost, own-brand 4G LTE-equipped handset for more price-sensitive consumers. Announced today, the new plans start from £13.99 per month and are available with a two year commitment. The operator also introduced new options available for users on 4G Extra and Business plans. At the entry-level, there’s now a £13.99 package which includes unlimited texts, 500 minutes of calls and 500MB of 4G data. Instagram passes 200 million monthly active users

Following the news that Facebook is seeing over 1 billion users of its mobile apps every month, Instagram has announced that it now has over 200 million monthly active users and more than 20 billion photos have been shared on the service. That’s up from the 150 million user mark announced last September. Twitter says it is looking into a bug that is causing some tweets not to be displayed. We experienced the problem on TNW’s account and have heard scattered reports from others. Incidentally, it looks like Ellen DeGeneres’s record-breaking selfie has gone missing, which, depending on how you feel about it, may or may not be a good thing.

Minecraft creator says he’s canceled talks for Oculus Rift version because Facebook creeps him out

If you were getting excited about playing Minecraft in virtual reality, you’re going to have to wait a bit longer. The game’s creator Markus Persson just revealed on Twitter that he has canceled any possible deal for an Oculus Rift version now that Facebook has announced plans to acquire Oculus VR.
