Google Street View now lets you visit the historic Angkor Wat temple site in Cambodia

Google is continuing to map Asia’s most recognizable landmarks after it added 360-degree panoramic images of Cambodia’s iconic Angkor Wat to its Street View service, a site populated by over 50 Khmer temples which the Lonely Planet guide calls ”heaven on earth”. Google has already taken Street View into a number of historic sites in Asia — including Japan’s Mount Fuji and the Taj Mahal in India. The Google Maps team first entered Cambodia in July 2013. Google says that the Angkor Wat project includes over 90,000 360-degree views from over 100 temples, making it “one of Street View’s largest digital renderings of a world…

Yahoo fully encrypts traffic between data centers, while encrypted Yahoo Messenger is coming soon

In November last year, Yahoo revealed plans to encrypt all information that moves between its data centers by the end of Q1 2014, and it has delivered. As of March 31, traffic between its data centers is fully encrypted, the company announced today. This comes after Yahoo switched on default HTTPS for all users of its Yahoo Mail service in January this year. The company revealed today that in the last month, it has also enabled encryption of mail between its servers and other mail providers that support the SMTPTLS standard as well. Anticipation of the new version—now on both Mac and Windows—stirred up more than enough buzz, so why stop there? Diablo III Reaper of Souls The artist social network DeviantArt teamed up for the first time with Blizzard Entertainment, Diablo III’s developer and publisher, to sponsor the Diablo III Fan Art Contest. Fans were challenged to create original artwork inspired by the game showing Malthael, The Angel of Death, and/or central figures from the six Heroes of Sanctuary as they plan for battle. Microsoft Announces Skype Acquisition For 8.5 Billion
At Microsoft’s Build 2014, Skype got a brief mention during the Windows Phone 8.1 demo, but now the details are here. Skype for Windows Phone 8.1 will let you upgrade calls to video chats and will feature Cortana integration. Doctors Seek Higher Fees From Health Insurers
Y Combinator startup SimplyInsured has announced an expansion outside of California to begin offering healthcare options for small businesses across the US. The company is focusing first on eight new states, including New York, Florida and Massachusetts, and it now has a license to operate in all 50 states.
