After almost three since launching for iPad, Red Jumper Studio has brought its personal ebook-creating app to Android tablets. The aptly-titled Book Creator app probably isn’t what you’d use to self-publish your first piece of fiction, but it will work well for personal use, say, creating stories for your kids, building family photo albums or, indeed, prototyping something that you’re going to create in a more sophisticated piece of software. BBC iPlayer app now lets you pause Chromecast and pick up where you left off on a mobile device

The BBC today updated its iPlayer apps for iOS and Android, adding a couple of important features for Chromecast owners in the UK. Across both platforms, it’s now possible to pause a program that was casting to a TV and then resume playback from the exact same spot inside the iPlayer app. So if your family shares a TV, or your significant other wants to watch the latest episode of Mad Men, you can grab your smartphone or tablet and continue watching without any interruptions. In many cases, Chromecast streaming should also remove the need for a traditional TV signal….

Mobile ad network StartApp partners with marketplace Fiverr to let its developers buy app graphics

Developers on mobile advertising platform StartApp can now buy graphics for their mobile apps, including app icons and user interface designs, from Fiverr, the Task Rabbit-rivaling startup that serves as a microtask marketplace for people to buy and sell services starting from $5. This comes as the two companies inked a partnership to help developers tap on the freelance community present on Fiverr.   StartApp developers can find app-related graphics on a specific Fiverr-StartApp landing page.
