With the likes of Spotify, Rdio, Beats, Deezer, and many others locking horns, the online music-streaming realm is becoming increasingly competitive. But given that you and your friends may subscribe to different services, and the availability of these platforms varies from country-to-country, what we end up with is a fragmented listening experience that makes it difficult to share music with all your buddies. Want to share your Spotify playlist so your Rdio-tethered brethren can listen effortlessly? No cigar. This is where Bop.fm comes in to play. As we noted in our original coverage back in December, Bop.fm doesn’t actually host…

Good news gamers: Google has just announced that the YouTube app for Xbox One now lets you broadcast your gaming prowess to the world by uploading clips from your DVR directly to your YouTube channel. While it was already possible to share to YouTube using SkyDrive as an intermediary, it’s now gotten a whole lot easier. Additionally, with the latest update YouTube also now supports Xbox One’s Snap Mode, which basically lets you juggle multiple apps simultaneously. In this case, you could shift a YouTube video to one side, and move on to watch something else in the main area…

modern office desk
Franklin Morris is a senior writer for Rackspace. A recent CareerBuilder report finds that 77 percent of full-time workers are either looking for a new job or are open to a change this year. Candidates who haven’t applied in a couple years will quickly find that the rules are different. Anyone who still thinks dropping off a resume at the front desk is enough will have better luck uploading it to their MySpace page and rushing to the nearest pay phone to place a follow-up call. Meanwhile, companies of all sizes are in a mad dash to recruit talented candidates using the…

On Air
Microsoft is extending its reach into the broadcasting realm with a new product called Skype TX, which it calls “studio grade software that delivers high quality audio and video output to seamlessly connect broadcast and media productions with people around the world.” Skype TX will be available “in the coming year”, and the product is a result of a recent acquisition of its long-time partner Cat and Mouse. This basically now means that Skype will be better integrated into a professional studio set-up. Indeed, the Cat and Mouse URL now redirects to a ‘Skype in Media’ section, which in turn…
