GitHub investigation finds no harassment, but president resigns due to ‘errors of judgment’

GitHub announced today the resignation of President, co-founder, and former CEO  Tom Preston-Werner following an investigation related to accusations of gender-based and sexual harassment from a former engineer. The firm noted that it found no evidence of “sexual or gender-based harassment or retaliation, or of a sexist or hostile work environment,” but it did find “evidence of mistakes and errors of judgment.” Preston-Werner has resigned in light of those errors. Google Holds News Conference
Google today updated its Hangouts for Android app with a trio of new features. You can download the new version now directly from Google Play. If you’re not seeing the update yet, that’s likely because it’s a gradual rollout. Google engineer Mike Dodd says the new version will be available “this week” and the Android account on Google+ says “over the next few days” so you should get it soon enough.
