Google Announces Quarterly Earnings
Earlier today, a huge allegation was made regarding AdSense and Google’s practices surrounding the program: “a former Google employee” claimed the company was and still is stealing money from publishers. Google has denied the whole posting, which has resulted in a heated discussion on many sites including Hacker News. The supposed Google scheme involved shutting down AdSense accounts without explanation, as well as banning sites that were earning $1,000, $5,000, and $10,000 per month. The whistleblower says the whole scandal started in 2009, but he or she chose to wait until it was possible to come forward without being identified….

Vanessa Camones is the founder and CEO of theMix agency, a full-service marketing and communications boutique. If we’re to believe the buzz around “growth hacking,” companies should totally toss traditional marketing methods out the window and simply drive growth by leveraging user data, social sharing features, and other tools. While those are important, the emphasis on “hacking” can lead companies to miss some important distinctions: While growth hackers may enjoy a measure of hype now, they should prepare for a coming backlash. Social media marketing enjoys about as much hoopla, even when it isn’t always clear how it drives ROI. With growth…

Sergey Brin, co-founder of Google appear
Google today announced the latest update to its Glass project, adding three new features for those who have shelled out $1,500 for the wearable device. The new additions include photo and video backup, an option to clear photos and videos from the timeline, and smarter phone answering. The first of three works exactly as you’d expect: backing up photos and videos can take a lot of bandwidth, so Glass only backs up when you’re plugged in and on Wi-Fi. That being said, you can also now can force a backup whether you are using your cellular connection or Wi-Fi. Just…

Google’s Nexus line of devices has become one of the most important brands for Android. With most manufacturers and carriers customizing (some would say hindering) the operating system with additional software of their own, Nexus phones have always been the place to go for the purest Android experience. However, the Nexus line has never been a huge seller due to its primarily online-based sales and the limited public awareness of the brand. According to a report by The Information, Google will soon change that. Under a new program called ‘Silver’, Google would help offload costs to promote premium Android phones that…
