Google Now for Android updated to alert you of nearby stores with products you’ve searched for

Google today updated Google Search for Android with a new shopping feature: a card that lets you know about stores nearby that carry products you’ve previously researched on Google. The company didn’t say how long it will remember which products you’ve searched for, or whether there is a limit to how many it will keep track of. You can download the new version now directly from Google Play. As you can see above, the Google Now card shows you the product and its price to remind you that you were interested in it. Leaked Google Stars video and screenshots show built-in search, filter, folder, security, and sharing features

Jury finalizes $119.6 million damages award to Apple for Samsung patent infringement

Following an initial ruling in the Apple vs. Samsung patent lawsuit, the federal jury has finished its calculations and finalized its $119.6 million damages figure after finding Samsung guilty of infringement. The judgment comes as a mixed result for Apple, which had originally asked for $2.2 billion in damages. Samsung also had a minor win against Apple on a “camera and folder organization” patent, but it received a paltry $158,000 in damages.
