AUSTRIA-THEME-SYMBOLS
The Court of Justice of the European Union (ECJ) has ruled today that individuals should have the right to remove outdated information about themselves returned in results delivered by search companies such as Google. The so-called ‘right to be forgotten’, proposed by the European Union in 2012, means that an individual should be allowed to request that outdated or irrelevant information is removed from a company’s servers and therefore removed from being publicly accessible on the Web. It was a view with which the ECJ agreed: The Court observes in this regard that even initially lawful processing of accurate data may, in the course…

Tickets
European ticketing platform Billetto has just officially launched its first native iOS app, which puts more of an emphasis on event discovery rather than just booking in order to take on rivals like Eventbrite. The app actually launched in beta form back in January, but having garnered 15,000 early app users across Denmark and the UK (home to its new HQ), it’s now ready to shake off that beta badge. It’s currently available to users in Denmark, the UK, Sweden and Norway, and the next countries for launch will be Germany and the Netherlands, Billetto told TNW. The ethos of the service is…

As part of its Moto E launch event, Motorola also unveiled a 4G-enabled version of its mid-range Moto G smartphone. The new Android handset will be sold alongside the original, allowing customers to choose between the two variants. The device will be available in black and white – there’s no Moto Maker customization on offer – and will also come with a microSD card slot, which is a new feature for the Moto G. Otherwise, the new 4G-enabled handset is identical to its predecessor. The device offers the same components and industrial design, both of which were exceptional for its…

SPAIN-TECHNOLOGY-MOBILE-WORLD-CONGRESS

After a deluge of leaks, Motorola today announced the Moto E, a new budget Android smartphone aimed at emerging markets. A successor to the Moto X and mid-range Moto G, Motorola hopes to make an impact with a low-cost handset for the masses. The device comes with a 4.3-inch display, a dual-core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 1GB of RAM. Motorola will be shipping the device with 4GB of onboard storage, a microSD card slot, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1980mAh battery. Aesthetically, the Moto E is similar to its higher-specced siblings. On the rear-side, the recessed logo, circular…
