Google today released Chrome version 35 for Windows, Mac, and Linux. The new version is mainly for developers, especially those building Web content and apps for mobile devices – this release doesn’t appear to have any new features targeted at the end user. You can update to the latest release now using the browser’s built-in silent updater, or download it directly from google.com/chrome. Here’s the Chrome version 35.0.1847.116 changelog provided by Google: More developer control over touch input. New JavaScript features. Unprefixed Shadow DOM. A number of new apps/extension APIs. Lots of under the hood changes for stability and performance….

Cloud-storage service Box has updated its Android client. The latest update brings a slicker UI, an improved gallery experience and speedier document viewer. In addition to a slicker UI, Box has introduced a gallery feature that’s quicker at presenting and navigating photos. Plus, document previewing has gotten a speed boost with options for grid view, page thumbnails and in-document text search. The app also adds Polish and Turkish language support. That brings language support to 26. If you happen to buy a new LG G-series device with the app pre-loaded you get 50GB of storage for one year. For everyone else,…

Addappt today launched its auto-updating address book app on Android and released a redesigned version for iOS. The company also added a localized Chinese version to go with its existing English, German, Spanish, French and Portuguese editions. Here’s a question: If our smartphones are so smart, why don’t they automatically update our friends’ contact information when they move or change numbers? Addappt takes the pain out of manually updating address books by syncing up with your contacts in order to always have the latest details on hand. The app also makes it easier to send group texts, emails and photos to your contacts….

Shutterstock today launched Shutterstock Music, a collection of tracks that customers can license for a simple per-song fee. Music represents the first new content type for Shutterstock in nearly eight years. As video footage became one of the fastest growing parts of Shutterstock’s business, the company found its customers increasingly interested in finding music to pair with their clips. Fittingly, Shutterstock’s VP of Product, Wyatt Jenkins (AKA DJ Wyatt Earp), has a background in music as an early partner at Beatport.com before joining Shutterstock in 2009. After SFX Entertainment acquired Beatport and cut much of its staff late last year, Jenkins hired a…

To go alongside its new Surface Pro 3 tablet-laptop hybrid, Microsoft has unveiled a new version of its Type Cover. Panos Panay, Corporate Vice President for Surface Computing at Microsoft, introduced the new typing accessory in a range of different colors, including black, orange, purple, dark blue and light blue. Panay said Microsoft has put “a ton of energy” into the new trackpad in response to overwhelming criticism held against prior iterations. “We did not get any praise for our trackpad,” he explained. “I am super clear. I heard it. We heard it. Oh my gosh, did the engineers hear…
