Facebook acquires Finnish mobile data startup Pryte to help bring affordable internet access to all

Facebook has acquired a Finnish startup called Pryte, a yet-to-launch company that enables single-click mobile data purchases on a “need-to and per app basis”. Founded in 2013, Pryte’s technology was geared towards developing markets, where mobile data may be less accessible or affordable. So in effect, a user could buy a short-term pass to check out Instagram or Facebook, without committing to a monthly plan – kind of like pay-as-you-go, but on a more micro level. Google today announced the debut of a 64-bit version of Chrome for Windows, starting with the introduction of 64-bit Dev and Canary channels for Windows 7 and Windows 8 users. It’s worth noting that in both cases the 64-bit version is offered by default if you are running a 64-bit flavor of Windows, though the 32-bit version is still available. Google Street View features some pretty cool things. But it’s also ripe for pranksters who get wind of a Google Street View car in the area. Two mechanics from Edinburgh, Scotland, staged a fake murder, with one chap posing over a motionless body while wielding a pick axe.
