Contacts
If you work as part of a remote team like we do at The Next Web, it’s important to always have the most recent and direct contact details for your colleagues in case you need to get in touch urgently. Or perhaps you want a way to share a list of home repairmen with your family, or the contact details of the best restaurants in town with your foodie pals. Whatever the reason, being able to quickly share multiple contact details with a group or single individual can be very handy indeed – and this is exactly what Contact Box from Ringya focuses…

If you live in the US and point your browser to Amazon’s online marketplace, you’ll notice that it’s now impossible to pre-order many high-profile Warner Bros. movies including The Lego Movie, 300: Rise of an Empire and Transcendence. It basically allows you to compete against yourself by selecting past results and inviting you to beat your time. The feature is actually quite well hidden, within the Android app at least. But if you go to the ‘Workout’ area which is accessible by clicking the little running-man icon in the top-right of the main activity feed, then ‘Basic…

European Commission vice-president Neelie Kroes waded into the long-running battle today between Uber and traditional taxi drivers with a call for “real dialogue” about the impact of new technology. As black-cab drivers prepare to bring the streets of London to a standstill, Kroes said digital innovations were here to stay and that “going on strike, or by trying to ban these innovations out of existence” wasn’t an option. “The job of the law is not to lie to you and tell you that everything will always be comfortable or that tomorrow will be the same as today,” she told protestors. “It…
