Nike already boasts a multitude of iOS and Android apps, but the company is about to go one further with a new soccer app on July 10. First teased at the end of its recent CG-animated video, The Last Game, a new promo site reveals the app will soon be available on both Apple and Google’s mobile platforms and offer exclusive features to tempt fans. The core of the app appears to be a self-contained social network. Nike says users will be able “talk football 24/7″ and join a pick-up game using the chat functionality. It will also offer “exclusive…

blackberry
BlackBerry has announced that the first part of its eBBM product suite revealed earlier in the year is BBM Protected, which brings enhanced security for enterprise BBM customers. Available from today, BBM Protected adds an extra layer of encryption onto messages sent across the platform. BlackBerry noted that while BBM Protected is only for enterprise users, the extra-secure chats aren’t limited to people within your own organization, so you can chat with BBM Protected users at other companies too. Business users with BlackBerry OS devices running BlackBerry Device Software 6.0 or newer on BES 5 and some customers with BlackBerry 10 smartphones with gold licenses on BES10 can start using the…

DesignCrowd, the global marketplace for outsourcing design work, is beefing up its business after it acquired Worth1000, a creative contest site with 600,000 registered users, in an undisclosed deal. While DesignCrowd hasn’t revealed its total registered user numbers (though it claims to have 182,000 registered designers), it says the migration of Worth1000 users is now under way and will “significantly” increase the DesignCrowed user base once completed over the coming weeks. US sales account for more 40 percent of the Australian company’s revenue, and it has increased its focused on North America over the past year. “You can now reach more creative talent through DesignCrowd than if you knocked…

Microsoft today announced the Internet Explorer Developer Channel, a fully-functioning browser designed to give Web developers and early adopters an advance look at what features the company is currently working on. You can download it right now at devchannel.modern.ie. The Developer Channel is available only to Windows 7 SP1 users running Internet Explorer 11 and Windows 8.1 users. Thankfully, like the Chrome Canary channel, it can run alongside and independently of IE11 (possible using a combination of code changes and App-V Client for virtualization). Microsoft notes that since the virtualization creates a small performance hit, it’s not recommended for using…

In the tussle, YouView – co-funded by the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Five,…
