Back in September last year, we reported on the launch of Google’s new Chrome Apps, as the internet giant sought to establish the Web browser as more of a platform within itself. While the new apps are similar to what the Chrome Web Store already offered, rather than appearing like a Web app, they now look and feel more like desktop apps, insofar as they have no address bar or navigation buttons. Samsung has taken the wraps off the mini version of its flagship Galaxy S5 smartphone. The 4.5-inch Galaxy S5 mini has pretty much the same features as its parent device, featuring IP67 certification for its display screen, an ultra power saving mode, a heart rate monitor, and a fingerprint scanner. However, in line with its reduced size, the Galaxy S5 mini does have a few downgraded specs. Amazon expands its free developer program to Europe to boost adoption of its Appstore and Fire OS

Amazon launched a free program for developers in the UK, Germany, France and Spain today that helps developers improve app discovery and increase sales if they optimize their apps and games for Amazon’s Appstore and Fire OS. The Appstore Developer Select Program was launched in October last year, but has only been available in the US till now. To qualify for the program, apps simply need to be optimized to work on Amazon’s Appstore and Fire OS, and include Amazon APIs when available to introduce features such as in-app purchasing and mobile ads.
