Visual - Eyes - Look
Way back in March last year, we brought you news on Facetune, calling it an intuitive, easy way to touch up portrait photos. The previously $1.99 app (now $2.99) from Israel-based developer Lightricks proved to be something of a hit among the iOS fraternity, quickly rising up the charts to become one of the top paid tools in the App Store. And today, due to popular demand, it’s available on Android too. Given the rise of the selfie in recent times, and with front-facing cameras improving all the time, Facetune will work just as well for those looking to enhance…

Back in April, we brought you news on Gig Sq., a neat new iPhone app that helps Londoners find the best live music in their locale. Today, Gig Sq. is ramping things up a notch with mobile ticketing, as it looks to “change the way Londoners discover and buy tickets to events.” For the rollout, Gig Sq. is tapping Stripe’s mobile payment platform, and gig-goers can purchase tickets with just two taps.     To recap, Gig Sq. lets you search for gigs nearby using an interactive map, or peruse a curated list of gigs – each day the team at…

Curated last-minute hotel booking service HotelTonight is introducing a major expansion across Europe today, adding 80 new destinations across the continent. If you’re not satisfied with photographing the world as it is, Pixite’s new Matter app for iPhone and iPad has devised a way to let you insert all kinds of inanimate objects into your shot. These aren’t just any objects, but beautifully rendered, highly customizable 3D effects, complete with their own shadows and reflections and ready for export as either photos or video loops. You can aim to be photorealistic, fantastical or somewhere in between with endless ways to integrate these structures into your picture.
