A German minister wants access to your encrypted WhatsApp and Telegram messages

If you’re living in Germany, you should be careful about what you’re texting. Because according to Spiegel Online, the country’s Federal Interior Minister, Horst Seehofer, wants encrypted messaging services like WhatsApp and Telegram to provide chat logs in plain text to the authorities.  Since these services come with end-to-end encryption, the companies will have to break the encryption and provide a backdoor to give access to the texts. German watchdog accuses CoinBene of unlicensed cryptocurrency trading

Cryptocurrency trading platform CoinBene has been put under the microscope again following an announcement from one of Germany‘s top financial regulators. The Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht (BaFin) has issued a warning against the cryptocurrency exchange stating that it is operating without a license. What’s more, the BaFin claims CoinBene has been recruiting freelance cryptocurrency traders to perform trades on behalf of the exchange. CoinBene LTD Germany is not registered on the commercial register in the country, the announcement reads. Flipboard hack exposed sensitive user data for over 9 months

Popular news aggregation platform Flipboard has disclosed a glaring security breach, which gave hackers unauthorized access to its database systems for more than nine months. As a precautionary step, it has reset all users’ passwords. While you can continue using Flipboard from devices you’re already logged in, you’ll be prompted to create a new password if you try signing in afresh.
