File-hosting service MediaFire has updated its Dropbox-style iOS app with a few much-needed features after it first landed on the iPad back in April. The app finally gets automatic photo and video syncing, which means it will auto-upload your media on the camera roll to the cloud, after which you can access them on the MediaFire desktop app or website. The app also now allows you to share documents and media directly from your mobile device via email or even a messaging app, while introducing improved streaming of your music and video collection from any device. Along with this latest app update, MediaFire…

After releasing a beta version of its 64-bit Chrome browser for Windows 7 and Windows 8, Google is turning its attention to Mac OS X. As iClarified reports, the company has quietly switched its developer-focused Chrome app, Chrome Canary, to a 64-bit version. If you download the latest version of Chrome Canary for Mac, you should see “64-bit” listed clearly in the About section. The new version arrives just a couple of months after Google released a 64-bit build in the Dev and Canary channels for Windows; it was then moved up to the beta channel on July 30. Given…

prague

Andrej Kiska is an associate at Credo Ventures. “I am building a startup that solves a problem I experience frequently.” I am a big fan of founders who build their startup on the above-mentioned premise, since such a startup is most likely tackling a real-world problem (an increasingly rare phenomenon in today’s world). Many accelerators and angel investors preach that a startup in its earliest phases should predominantly focus on solving a real problem for an individual/company. Some of the most famous early stage institutions such as Y Combinator embrace it wholeheartedly: in one of its 2014 batches, YC had…

bethere

This post is brought to you by bethere: the going out network!

If you’re on a night out with friends, keeping tabs of where everyone is and where they’re going can be difficult. That’s where bethere for iPhone comes in. bethere is designed from the ground up to help you socialize with friends better. It lets you share where you’re going to be, and see where everyone else will be too – think of it like ‘checking in to the future’.       That’s not all – once you’re out, the app prompts you to share a photo of what a great time you’re having so your other friends can be jealous –…

If you’re a Virgin Media customer with a Sky Movies or Sky Sports subscription, watching the latest blockbuster movies, football matches or Formula 1 races on the go just got a whole lot easier. Now, you can log into Sky’s official iOS apps with your existing Virgin Media account credentials. The company notes that the same is also true for the Sky Movies website, which should prove useful if you’re an Android user. With the first match of the Barclays Premier League just around the corner, sports fans should find Virgin’s offering a tad more attractive. In its long-running battle…
