"Life as a judge clearly made UN envoy Richard Goldstone a poor judge. Rumors are that Goldstone only retracted his findings once Israeli President Shimon Peres agreed to give him a tour of Israel and a quiet share of a very successful felafel stand, which he chose over a share of an Israeli hi-tech arms manufacturer." ~ Yasha Harari

Google today announced it is turning off the Google Maps API for Flash on September 2, 2014. The move is in line with the three-year deprecation period: the API was officially deprecated on September 2, 2011. In other words, developers who haven’t moved on now don’t have a choice. Google is encouraging anyone with an app that uses the old API to migrate their code to version 3 of the Google Maps JavaScript API. ➤ Google Maps API Community Support See also – Google Maps Embed API lets developers generate HTML snippets for including maps in their own websites and…

Manchester United has revealed amendments to its club policy that will see fans banned from bringing large electrical devices to matches. The club hasn’t commented on the reason for the move, but it seems like it is intended to stop people from blocking the view of other supporters when using devices during a match, as well as copyright fears. The news was circulated to those going to watch Tuesday night’s friendly against Valencia, also revealing that large bags, large cameras and large containers of liquid have also been prohibited. ➤ Via The Guardian Thumbnail image credit: AFP/Getty Images

Targeting mobile users, the app is introducing desktop-tablet support and a new Android app. Painter is nearly 25 years old, and despite its having been bounced among several vendors over time, a steady upgrade path has managed to keep it aligned with current technologies, modern operating systems and enhancements that its…
