Ever wondered what was the number one on the Billboard Charts in 1920? Nor us, either. But, out of interest, it was a song called ‘Dardanella’, by Ben Selvin & His Orchestra. A new Music Hack Day project aims to provide questions like this with an accurate answer, exploring a century of the Billboard Charts. Remix of the Century, as the project is being called, cleverly provides you with an uninterrupted remix of Billboard’s best ranking tunes by combining data from the Whitburn Project with the Echo Nest API. General Assembly is bringing its tech scholarship program to Los Angeles and San Francisco

General Assembly, a New York-based startup that offers educational courses in a wide range of technology-related skills, is expanding its scholarship program to Los Angeles and San Francisco. The ‘Opportunity Fund‘ was announced in April as a pilot scheme for New York City, but it seems the company is already prepared to expand the program. The new fund is aimed at women, war veterans and minorities – specifically African-Americans and Latinos, according to General Assembly. Those who are accepted onto the program will receive an $8,500 grant for the company’s three-month Web Development Immersive course. Standard tuition normally costs $11,500, so…
