What better way to tease a new device than to have seemingly random people declare their unequivocal appreciation for it? Amazon took this approach for a Fire Phone teaser earlier this year and today, Barnes & Noble is doing the same for its upcoming tablet. Apple begins storing user data on Chinese servers for the first time

Apple is now using servers on Chinese soil to house data belonging to users of China Telecom, ending its policy of storing the information in the US. The company confirmed the change to the Wall Street Journal, explaining that it comes after 15 months of testing. It isn’t clear exactly why Apple is moving to local servers, but it is likely to mean better quality of service for China Telecom customer who store music, photos and documents on its iCloud service.
