If you’re into GIFs then IFTTT‘s newest announcement is tailor made for you. IFTTT, the company that “puts the internet to work for you” using a series of alerts and automations, just added support for GIF database Giphy to its service. That means you can now use it to alert you to trending GIFs, autopost GIFs to Tumblr/Twitter/Facebook, etc. The company’s blog lists a few examples but, as anyone who has ever used IFTTT before knows, the combinations are near-endless if you plug other services into your IFTTT account. ➤ IFTTT blog Thumbnail image via Shutterstock

eBay has been working to integrate the acceptance of Bitcoin into its subsidiary Braintree, the Wall Street Journal reports, though eBay and PayPal won’t be accepting Bitcoin initially. The WSJ cites sources as saying that PayPal officials have met with Bitcoin companies including Coinbase in recent weeks, and they are still in the midst of reaching an agreement. eBay acquired Braintree last September and introduced full PayPal support in its SDK just last month. Anonymous sharing app Whisper has launched a non-profit project that is focused on helping those suffering at the hands of bullying, depression and other mental health issues. The growth of apps like Whisper, Secret and YikYak — which allow users to share information under the cloak of anonymity — have raised concerns about mental health and bullying.
