Here at The Next Web, we publish 200 posts or more every week. TNW Weekly is a new way to keep track of the pick of the crop. We’ve offered daily and weekly automated emails with links to our most-shared stories for some time. Last month we decided to try something different with the weekly email – a debrief curated by me, your humble Editor-in-Chief. It features original content and hand-picked stories – the articles from the past seven days that I think you need to see. Aside from a few tweets, we haven’t really promoted it at all, but the reaction has been great….

CoolestCooler

Pebble’s spot at the top of the Kickstarter leaderboard for collecting the most campaign contributions has come to an end, and it was ousted by a humble cooler. Well, it’s not just any cooler as it happens, it’s the Coolest Cooler, which promises not only to keep your food and drinks cool, but also integates a clip-on blender/ice crusher for creating cocktails in the park, an app-controlled integrated Bluetooth speaker for listening to music and a USB port for charging your soon to be depleted electronic devices. There’s also a bunch of other features too, such as a bottle opener, split lid…

Ashley Hefnawy is an associate editor for Shutterstock’s blog. This post was originally published on the Shutterstock blog and has been reprinted with permission. We recently re-discovered the work of Olga Angelloz, which features some of the most adorable and enchanting of faces. We caught up with Angelloz to ask a few questions about her artistry and her fascination with “humanimals” in particular. French Bulldog in pink bowtie Shutterstock: What inspires you in life and in art? Olga Angelloz: I am inspired by traveling, movies, people that dress stylish and, of course, animals. What’s your preferred medium as an artist? I prefer to use…

CHINA-US-INTERNET-IPO-FACEBOOK

Facebook has introduced a new feature for advertisers that allows them to target ads to users on a specific type of mobile network (2G/3G/4G), thereby ensuring that creative campaigns are delivered in an appropriate way for different users around the world. It already allowed targeting by device type, model and operating system of a mobile device, and it now allows targeting by the type of mobile network being used – it wouldn’t be much use trying to serve high-quality video ads to 2G users in a developing market. The company said today that the new feature is accessible via its…

dropbox_android_2

Dropbox just announced that Dropbox Pro will be consolidated from three pricing structures to a single price point of $9.99 a month with 1TB of storage. Plus, it’s introducing features that’ll make sharing files and links more powerful. The new Dropbox Pro features the ability to add view-only permissions to shared folders, passwords for shared links, and expiration dates for shared links. On top of that, users will be able to remotely wipe a device with a Dropbox account and all the files associated with that account. The view only permissions feature should solve the problem of sharing a folder with…
