Google today updated its sitelinks search box, used for searching within websites directly from Google’s search results. The company has made the search box more prominent (it is now above the sitelinks section), as well as added support for Autocomplete and the ability to send the user to the website’s own search pages. The last part requires that webmasters have a working site-specific search engine and use correct the markup on their site. Online learning platform Coursera fixes vulnerabilities, says no user data was compromised

Online learning platform Coursera said it has patched a vulnerability that left the names and email address of its nine million registered users potentially accessible to teachers registered with the service. The issue was raised by Stanford professor Jonathan Mayer. A registered teacher on Coursera himself, Mayer found that the site’s use of autocomplete left its database exposed to a potential data dump using the same technique as Weev’s infamous incident with AT&T. In addition, Mayer’s research suggested that third party websites could be manipulated to gain access to a Coursera’s student’s course registration history. Korea’s top chat app gives a glimpse of what Facebook Messenger payments could look like

There’s plenty of speculation that Facebook will introduce mobile payments to its Messenger app in the future, and South Korea’s top chat app is giving the US company a glimpse of how it could work. Frontline Ventures announces $50m fund for European startups

European VC company Frontline Ventures has announced a €40 million ($50 million USD) fund, which will be run by partners Shay Garvey, Will Prendergast and William McQuillan from Dublin and London. Frontline Ventures focuses on early-stage software-based startups and typically invests invests between €250,000 and €2 million per deal. It has made eight investments in the past year including Logentries, Boxever, CurrencyFair and Qstream. It’s been a good year for Europe-focused investment funds, with Google Ventures arriving on the scene with $100 million, while Russia’s Runa Capital unveiled a $200 million fund too.
