Timehop is a beloved app that offers a daily dose of nostalgia from years gone by. The latest Android update adds Google+ photos into the mix, providing more opportunities to retread your digital footprint. To integrate your photos stored using Google’s Auto-backup service, tap the settings icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen, followed by the “Google” option from the list of supported services. Meanwhile, new users will be prompted to connect their Google+ account during the initial setup process. Once your Google+ account is connected, you can sit back and relax. Timehop will cherry-pick your best photos and show…

Sony has confirmed that it has sold more than one million PlayStation 4 units in the UK since it went on sale on November 29 last year. The nine-month milestone was confirmed by UK PlayStation boss Fergal Gara to MCV today, and he added that there should be no shortage of the consoles in the run up to Christmas, which created a few problems soon after launch last year. Jawbone, the company behind the UP activity-tracking wearable, is opening its platform to rival services. The company told Reuters that UP users can now import data from a range of devices that includes the iPhone, Fitbit, and Android Wear devices. It could include any ‘iWatch’ that Apple launches, while a Windows Phone app is coming soon. A spokesperson told Reuters that the company aims to “lead people to the Jawbone hardware” through a more open data policy, which essentially means that people can use its service without actually buying its hardware. In addition, UP just got a software update that allows the device to…

Japanese e-commerce giant Rakuten is pressing on with its plans for the North American e-commerce market after it confirmed that it has acquired Ebates, a major online retailer in the US, in a $1 billion deal. The deal has been speculated earlier this week, and it will see Rakuten acquire 100 percent of Ebates.
