Rounding out his media tour for this week’s Apple event, CEO Tim Cook has recorded a multi-part interview for the Charlie Rose Show. The first segment of the interview will air tonight, September 12, on PBS. Excerpts of the interview posted to YouTube show Cook talking about the television industry, Steve Jobs, and the $3 billion Beats acquisition. “TV is one of those things that if we’re really honest it’s stuck back in the 70s,” Cook said, while noting that Apple continues to have “great interest” in the space. Cook also revealed that Apple has preserved Jobs’ office exactly as…

If you’re still using Google+ and you have a Chromecast, there’s an update to the Android app that you’ll want to snap up. Now you can cast a slideshow of videos, photos and links shared to your stream. So far the update only seems to be for the Android version of Google+. To cast a slideshow, you should see the cast icon in the top right hand of your stream. Just tap that, choose your Chromecast and your feed will appear on a connected TV. You can also choose photos and albums and tap the same icon to see those on…

After teasing the app earlier this week, Digg co-founder Kevin Rose has released Tiiny, the first app from North Technologies, his new mobile startup. Tiiny shows you a grid of 212×212-pixel photos and looping videos from people you follow. There’s no way to enlarge the images, and they are automatically deleted after 24 hours. The concept of the app is based on the Explore/Hashtag views on Instagram, with the assumption that the smaller size will lead to less pressure when sharing.                          The app uses your Twitter login to…

webinar

This post originally appeared on the Mention blog. A few months ago, I held a Yabbly AMA about how and why we use webinars at Mention.
