Twitch promises ‘complete transparency’ with new sponsored content policies

At Twitch has continued to grow, it has to worry more and more about how its broadcasters behave. Today, the video game streaming service is addressing how sponsored content will live on the site going forward. Beginning today, all sponsored content on Twitch will have a Sponsored Channel badge applied to the stream. If you’re a subscriber to the Twitch newsletter you will also see a banner signifying sponsored content. Twitch wants to make sure that when a brand is sponsoring a stream — usually by offering up pre-release games or new games to popular broadcasters — viewers are aware of the…

Adaptive Path, a user experience and design consulting firm, has announced an unexpected acquisition by Capital One. Joining a bank seems like an odd fit for Adaptive Path, but Chief Creative Officer Jesse James Garrett described Capital One as: A company with a great culture that shares and values our intellectual curiosity and design sensibilities, that wants us to continue doing great work inside their organization, but also continue helping others do great work too, by fostering dialogue and teaching what we have learned. Adaptive Path will keep the name and continue operating as a team, but its consulting business…

Sure, it’s an ad for Leica cameras. And yeah, perhaps the soundtrack overstates the camera company’s case a wee tad. But this mashup of 35 famous photos from the Brazilian agency F/Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi — celebrating Leica’s 100-year anniversary and the November opening of the Leica Gallery in São Paulo, Brazil — is gripping, nonetheless. NSFW warning: there’s a fraction of a second of nudity in this footage, but c’mon. ➤ Leica Gallery São Paulo

Lee Bob Black is a staff writer and editor for the SkilledUp Learning Hub. Connect with him on LinkedIn and Google Plus. In business, what factors foster creativity and engender success? Conversely, what factors stifle creativity and endanger success? Ed Catmull, the president Pixar and Disney Animation (otherwise known as the guys that brought us Up, Finding Nemo, Frozen, Tangled and many other animated hits), has more than a few intriguing ideas about creativity and success. Catmull explored many of his insights in his new book, co-authored with Amy Wallace, Creativity Inc.: Overcoming the Unseen Forces That Stand in the Way of…
