You can now pre-order movies from Google Play in the US

Google is introducing the ability to pre-order movies from its Google Play marketplace. The feature is only available in the US, although Google says more countries will be added soon. In short, it means viewers can express their interest in a title and have it ready for streaming or downloading on its release date. Google only charges viewers when the title is available, and also sends an email to confirm it’s been added to their library. Excited about a film that’s still in theaters? 8tracks for Android gets Chromecast support to let you beam music to your TV

A little over a month after 8tracks gave its Android app a major lick of paint, the popular internet radio service has now added Chromecast support to the mix.     Yes, this means you can now beam your tunes from your phone directly to your TV, which should go down a treat at parties. While some music-streaming heavyweights such as Spotify have been slow to embrace Google’s HDMI dongle, the likes of Rdio and Deezer already support it.
