This post originally appeared on the Buffer blog. There are a few actions I perform over and over again as I work through my social media marketing plan. Do you know the feeling? You click on the same few buttons or type in the same URL. And then, one day, someone shows you a browser extension that completely rocks your world for the better. Check out this fan-made remake of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back

Few franchises have a fandom as ardent as Star Wars does. Today’s release of The Empire Strikes Back Uncut, a fan-made remake of arguably the best film in the series, just further proves that. You can watch the entire two-hour production here: ➤ The Empire Strikes Back Uncut

This post originally appeared on the Crew blog. I’m a marketing consultant. Clients come to me and say, “I need more traffic to my site, can I pay you to do that?” To which I often have to reply, “No.” “What?” Why would I say no? Why would I push someone away who is trying to give me money? Why would I refuse a new client? “Your design is not conversion-focused, traffic wouldn’t help you. I can help guide you to a better conversion-focused design though – then I can help build your traffic.” You see, marketing is a good…

Apple Reports Quarterly Earnings

Ran Rachlin is the co-founder and CEO of Ubertesters, a global provider of a comprehensive, cloud-based, process management tool for mobile applications beta testing. App developers definitely learned something important from Apple’s latest product release: even the titans of the industry deal with programming bugs and release disasters. Well, we all knew that. What’s surprising is the depth of the problem; one so severe that Apple was forced to pull its iOS 8.0.1 update just days after it was released. All businesses, not just developers, can learn a few other useful things from Apple’s mistakes. Don’t let your past mistakes haunt you…

Alexander Huls is a freelance writer whose work has appeared in The New York Times, The Atlantic, Esquire and other publications. This post was originally published on the Shutterstock blog and has been reprinted with permission. Hundreds of movies play every year at the Toronto International Film Festival, and many of them are not only great films, but particularly inspiring for the art and design community. Of course, with such an overwhelming list, it can be hard for non-attendees to determine which ones to look for at their local cinema in the coming months. That’s why we’ve done a little…
