Just as McDonald’s announced it was extending NFC payments at 14,000 outlets across the US, Taco Bell has now revealed it’s planning to expedite the food-ordering process too. reserve
Hotel concierge services have long been one of the best ways to snag a table at a sold-out restaurant. Reserve, a new startup launching in beta today, is trying to recreate the concierge experience through an app. Launching first in New York, Boston and LA, Reserve shows you a list of partner restaurants in your city. You specify what time you’re interested in dining and then send a request to the restaurant. If you get the table, the restaurant will receive a photo of you so the host can recognize you when you arrive. The app has you designate your…

This post is part of a new series titled “Business Social,” and is brought to you by Hootsuite.

There is an old adage that any press is good press, meaning eyes on the brand and the company are better than no eyes at all, even if that news is unexpected or negative. This, of course, is debatable, but little positive sentiment has come of social media blunders. Instead, these situations are associated with scandal, embarrassment, and human resources issues.
