If you’re a coffee-drinker and frequent internet user, you’ve probably found yourself sitting in Starbucks on more than a few occasions. But for those in one Kansas City outlet, broadband speeds just got silly. Google has been gradually expanding its free speedy Wi-Fi in Starbucks across the US for a while, but the internet giant has revealed that the coffee house’s outlet on 41st and Main Street, Kansas City, is the first to be connected to Google’s super-fast Fiber network. The Google Fiber story kicked off in Kansas City way back in 2012, so it’s perhaps surprising that it’s taken…

This post originally appeared on the Crew blog. Are things going relatively well for you? Have people told you, you are doing a good job? Do you want to ruin all of that? Come with me on a journey of self-sabotage… Step 1: Diminish your success Take a success you’ve had in the past, any success large or small. Now tell yourself it doesn’t matter. Make up reasons for why it doesn’t count as a real success. Use your keen eye for detail to describe how others did it better than you and how your success was the result of…

Today, Parse is adding a new feature to its platform, Parse Push Experiments. The new tool now lets you easily create A/B tests for push notifications so you can study the analytics data and see what content or timing is most effective. To try it, you just need to open up Parse’s push Web console and then allocate some users into a test group. You can then send each group a different message. Afterwards, you’ll see the push console give you real time metrics about the two test groups, including a statistical confidence value on any differences in performance. Finally, you…

In a bid to help its users battle the winter blues, perennially popular GPS fitness-tracking app RunKeeper is introducing a new feature to help you track your movements inside the gym. While RunKeeper normally traces your runs using GPS to record things like distance traversed, it’s not quite so easy to do this indoors without plugging into the treadmill’s data. With version 5.0 of the iPhone app (Android to follow), RunKeeper is looking to help make this easier. On the main start screen, you simply select Stopwatch Mode from your activity type, choose your activity, and hit ‘go’. Then, RunKeeper will track how…
