Amazon gives Prime members unlimited full resolution photo storage

Amazon today revealed the newest tool its Prime members have at their disposal: Prime Photos. As you might surmise form the name, it’s a cloud photo storage service, and its users get unlimited uploads. The service lets you upload from a plethora of platforms, including iOS, Android, Fire tablets and phones, as well as Mac and Windows PCs. Unlike some other services, users get to upload all their files at their original, full resolution without any data restrictions. Google+ limits your resolution if you want to use unlimited photos, and Flickr gives you “only” 1TB of storage, for instance. While it’s…

With Open Roberta, Google wants to help German school kids learn to program with robots

Google has launched a new cloud platform in Germany called Open Roberta, as the internet giant looks to simplify “programming for small robots.” With Open Roberta, Google is looking to encourage kids to code using LEGO Mindstorms, which are basically programmable robots. Google has been working with local IT organization Fraunhofer IAIS, which received €1 million from Google.org, to develop the new program  to work on ways to simplify the programming of the robots, and circumvent technical hurdles for students and certified ‘Roberta Teachers’. Part of this involved putting any required software in the cloud and making it open source….

The update to version 5.2 allows multiple users to log on and play music on Sonos speakers, freeing them from the restriction of single-user control. Finding the right song to play becomes easier too, thanks to improved search capabilities that can sort through all connected music sources, including users’ mobile devices.
