Reddit launches real-world scavenger hunt just in time for Christmas

One month after sending out an SOS for volunteers from every US state and a handful of international cities, Reddit has announced a real-world scavenger hunt that involves you seeking out hidden boxes. Redditors have hidden a gift box in 52 locations around the US, as well as Sydney (Australia), London (UK), Amsterdam (Netherlands) and Singapore. Reddit is adding clues to each location-specific subreddit, giving at least some hint as to where the box could be hidden. Foursquare finally launches its revamped app on Windows Phone

Starting today,  Windows Phone users can finally download Foursquare’s revamped app. Although Foursquare had been available on Windows Phone before, this marks the first time the redesigned version of the app has hit the platform. Foursquare now does away with the check-ins feature it became famous for and relegates that functionality to the company’s Swarm app. The current app instead focuses on helping you discover new places to go to, making use of reviews and tags called ‘tastes’ to help cater results to your preferences. Duolingo brings its language learning app to Windows Phone

Duolingo today released a Windows Phone app for its crowdsourced language learning service, joining its existing iOS and Android offerings. The company said it received thousands of requests via email and Facebook for a Windows Phone release.
