Tesco-owned Blinkbox now lets you watch movies offline on both iPad and Android tablets

Two weeks after Tesco’s on-demand movie-streaming service Blinkbox finally brought offline mode into the mix for iPad, Android users can now download content directly to their devices too. Blinkbox launched its Android tablet app almost two years ago, and has since added Chromecast support across its mobile products. While both the iPad and Android versions let you watch movies and TV shows on your device, the former incarnation still doesn’t let you browse and buy content – you must first purchase a title through a browser, then visit the iPad app. Tesco has previously suggested that it may sell or…

Confirmed: BT is also in talks to acquire EE’s mobile network

EE has confirmed that it’s in exploratory acquisition talks with BT to sell its UK mobile network. Earlier this week, we heard that BT has been in discussions with O2 about a similar deal. EE’s joint shareholders, Deutsche Telekom and Orange, issued a statement on the discussions with BT. They say: “Deutsche Telekom AG and Orange SA are having  highly preliminary exploratory discussions with British Telecom,  although it is too early to state whether any transaction may occur.  Deutsche Telekom and Orange will make further announcements if and when appropriate.” Last year, BT struck a deal with EE to use its…
