Intel has acquired Canadian identity management service PasswordBox for an undisclosed amount. The product lets users log into websites and apps without having to enter or remember passwords. PasswordBox was founded in 2012 and will now be part of Intel’s Security Group. Electronics giant Samsung is set to unveil its first Tizen OS-based smartphone, the Z1, in India on Dec 10. The device is expected to be priced below $100, so as to compete with Android One devices in the market, reports Reuters. Google Glass will get an Intel-powered overhaul in its next generation, according to The Wall Street Journal. The report says Google Glass with Intel inside will arrive in 2015. The WSJ’s sources says an Intel chip will replace the Texas Instruments processor which currently powers Glass. The purported deal between Google and Intel is said to be part of a wider push into wearables by the chip maker.
