Flock_twitter
Twitter announced today that it is taking its modular Fabric software development kit (SDK) on a world tour in a bid to better explain how developers can start making use of the tool set. As well as announcing the specific cities and dates (more details on that below) on the Flock tour, the company also said it had made some changes to the SDK, such as an upgraded distribution tool and a new self-service app installs tracking feature. The full list of dates and times for each conference is listed below, it’s worth noting that this is the first time…

Google Classroom
Google Classroom launched last summer and has seen over 30 million assignments submitted through it since then. Until today though, it was an entirely web-based offering. Now, Google’s launched Classroom apps for iOS and Android. The Classroom mobile app gives students the ability to snap photos and attach them. It also allows them to share images, PDFs and more from other apps to Classroom. Most handily, it adds offline caching so they can work on assignments without a data connection. On the web-based version of Classroom, Google has added a new teacher assignments page giving them the ability to quickly access any individual assignment, check…

Ara
We finally know who will be the first to get Google’s modular Project Ara phone: the device will launch a pilot program in Puerto Rico later this year. At its developer conference today, the company notes it chose Puerto Rico because of its high level of mobile engagement. 77 percent of its users access the internet primarily through mobile devices, and the country features both American and Latin American carriers. Google says its working on different packaging options for the phone. You’ll be able to purchase the device fully configured, as individual modules or with prepackaged sets of modules. It’s unclear…

Investor and Digg co-founder Kevin Rose announced today that he is stepping down from his part-time role at Google Ventures to focus on his startup, North Technologies. The news come alongside North’s latest round of seed funding, raising $5 million after launching the company last year. North’s projects currently include Watchville, a news aggregating app for topics exclusively related to luxury watches, and Tiiny, a social photo app for sharing ephemeral miniature pictures and videos. Rose says he will remain as an advisor to Google Ventures. In this transition, he tells TNW that he “won’t be hunting down deals for GV” or meeting…

You can now remove Google Now Card data from your Google History

Jan14
by Sindy Cator on January 14, 2015 at 4:16 pm
Posted In: Around the Web, Insider

Google Web History is a neat way of checking what information the company has stored on your behavior within its platforms. Now, it’s added a section for Google Now Cards. The tool records how many cards you were shown on any given day and what type they were. Categories include weather, articles, stocks and places. Unfortunately, it doesn’t show any more details than simple categories. It would have been nice to be able to view old article or music recommendations, for instance, but it’s possible this functionality could be implemented in the future. Still, there might be enough information to glean some…
