Hackers took control of British multinational retailer Tesco’s Twitter account yesterday, urging followers to send Bitcoin to a wallet address and promising to return twice the value received. Luckily, though, Tesco’s followers did not fall for the Bitcoin scheme as no funds were deposited in the wallet address shared by the hackers.  According to Bleeping Computer, the tweet was sent from Tesco’s official account, which boasts over 500,000 followers.  Hackers also decided to retweet and impersonate Bill Gates, changing the supermarket’s Twitter handle to @Billgatesmsc, and replacing the account’s original profile picture to that of the tech magnate. Google has warned its employees that those who plan to ride the company’s sponsored float will not be allowed to protest against YouTube’s LGBTQ+ policy decisions.  The tech giant points out it would be in violation of the company’s code of conduct. Turning that trend on its head is Shutterstock, which has created an alternative trailer to the Netflix hit series Stranger Things, using only stock footage sourced from its archives. The trailer was shared earlier today by John Glenday at The Drum. And I have to say, with this clip, Shutterstock has managed to artfully capture the overall eeriness of the series. Discussing diversity and inclusion (D&I) practices in the workplace can be a delicate subject — but it shouldn’t be. Rather than dance around the subject or get defensive about the reason for the imbalance, I believe HR leaders and CEOs must make a conscious and active effort to openly discuss how best to tackle the issue. Simply hiring more women or filling minority quotas isn’t going to cut it. Diversity policies can be short-sighted, with management striving to level the gender playing field for compliance or altruistic purposes. And, the narrative around gender diversity in business culture can be weak,…
