Welcome to Hard Fork Basics, a collection of tips, tricks, guides, and advice to keep you up to date in the cryptocurrency and blockchain world. If you own any cryptocurrency, the chances are you’ve had to use an address, or a wallet, or both. It’s confusing, right? Well, it doesn’t have to be. The fact of the matter is that a wallet and an address are not the same thing, but the differences are relatively easy to understand. With this in mind, we’ll define what they each are and explain the differences without the unnecessary technical detail. An address When…

Mozilla fixes second Firefox zero-day bug used in Coinbase hack attempts

Mozilla has patched its Firefox browser for a second time in response to a spearphishing campaign targeting employees of cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, ZDNet reports. According to ZDNet, hackers have been attempting to phish Coinbase staff with emails containing links to malicious websites. If links were clicked when using Firefox, it would automatically download and run malware on the system, stealing browser passwords and other sensitive data. Selena Deckelmann, senior director for Firefox browser engineering, previously told Hard Fork: “On Monday, June 17, 2019, Coinbase reported a vulnerability used as part of targeted attacks for a spear phishing campaign. In less than 24 hours,…

Welcome to TNW Basics, a collection of tips, guides, and advice on how to easily get the most out of your gadgets, apps, and other stuff. You wouldn’t go weeks without washing your bedding, continuously use the same coffee mug, or wear the same socks every day — or maybe you would, but you’re missing the point. Like anything you use every day, it needs cleaning, and that includes your — probably disease-riddled — laptop. But we’re not here to make you feel bad about your gross life choices, we’ve instead produced a handy guide on how to clean your…

CHEAP: These $40 noise-cancelling Taotronics headphones are the definition of a bargain

Jun21
by Sindy Cator on June 21, 2019 at 11:02 am
Posted In: Around the Web, Insider

A few months ago, Taotronics’ latest noise-cancelling headphones landed on my doormat, and to my shame, they’ve since languished on my “to-do” list of product reviews. I say shame, because they’re actually really good – both in terms of performance, as well as overall value. And now you can get a pair for just $40, down from the usually retail price of $70. I’ve used these cans on-and-off for a while (and, incidentally, reviewed the previous model). Performance wise, they’re not bad, especially given the pricetag. While they can struggle with highs and mids, they’re capable of producing some truly…

For the uninitiated, FBA, or Fulfillment by Amazon, lets you store your own products for sale in Amazon’s fulfillment centers, where they are then picked, packed, shipped all by Amazon. It’s an incredibly easy way to scale up a business, and Amazon even provides customer service for the products you sell.
