Apple released the public beta versions of its new operating systems iOS 13, iPadOS, WatchOS 6, macOS Catalina, and tvOS 13. These versions might have some bugs and niggles, but if you’re curious like me, you’ll want to install them and check out the new features for yourself. Reddit has a very specific policy prohibiting people from threatening bodily harm or attempting to incite violence. It uses this policy as the basis for banning individual accounts, discussion threads, and whole subreddits. Basically if you cross the line, you’re gone. Unless you’re a member of the r/TheDonald subreddit, in which case the rules don’t apply to you. The past 24 hours has seen a surge in posts on r/TheDonald calling for citizen violence over the current political kerfuffle in Oregon – yet there’s no evidence that Reddit is doing anything about it. A hacker penetrated NASA’s network using a $35 gadget from Amazon

A hacker illegally accessed NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in 2018 by targeting an off-the-shelf micro-computer called a Raspberry Pi. The breach was discovered in 2018, but just disclosed to the public in a June 18 report. In it, NASA details an “unauthorized” Raspberry Pi that created a portal that allowed the unknown attacker access to the network for months, until it was ultimately discovered and patched. For those unfamiliar, a Raspberry Pi is a $35 micro-computer made popular by any number of school science projects (mostly involving a blinking light) or its occasional appearance in hacker movies or TV shows.…
