Xiaomi begins selling accessories in India from its own site

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has enjoyed tremendous success in India, having sold 1 million handsets in the country in less than six months. The company is now selling its mobile accessories there through its own site. The revamped country-specific site now sells earphones, power banks, and cases and covers for Xiaomi’s smartphones. The accessories have previously been available from Flipkart and a few resellers. Xiaomi hasn’t yet begun selling its mobile devices on its site. US health insurer Premera Blue Cross hacked, 11 million records accessed

Premera Blue Cross, a US-based health insurance company, has admitted that its systems were breached and 11 million customers’ records were accessed by hackers. It’s the second cyberattack on a medical insurance firm in the country this year, after Anthem was hacked last month. Premera said that customers’ names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, date of birth, Social Security number, medical claims information and bank account information may have been accessed in an intrusion in May 2014. Gumroad now lets you rent movies directly from content creators

Gumroad, the indie sales platform for digital product sales, now supports video rentals. The new feature allows content creators to offer their films for rent for up to 30 days. Viewers have a month to begin watching the videos they rent. Once you begin watching a film, it’ll be available to stream for 72 hours. They’ll also receive warnings ahead of the expiry date. Android Lollipop-based OxygenOS and CyanogenMod updates are coming to OnePlus One phones this month

OnePlus has confirmed in a forum post that its Android Lollipop-based updates are coming to its flagship One smartphone by the end of March. The OnePlus One currently ships with CyanogenMod (CM). The latest build, CM 12S, will arrive on or before March 30 as an over-the-air (OTA) update. OnePlus will release its own Lollipop-based ROM, dubbed OxygenOS, by March 27. The company said its updates were delayed by an unforeseen OS signing issue, as well as an unstable camera module.
