EE_WiFi_Calling
EE has announced that its Wi-Fi calls and texts feature, which allows customers to route voice calls and SMS through Wi-Fi networks when they have no mobile reception, is now available. A spokesperson for the company told TNW that testing had been going on for some time, but that the service is now available to people with compatible handsets – two of the first on EE’s network are the Microsoft Lumia 640 (released today) and the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, due for release in three days. In essence, once you’ve switched the option on in the settings menu,…

Review: LG’s G Flex 2 makes me wish all big phones were curved

LG G Flex 2-3
LG showed off its engineering muscles with the original G Flex, but didn’t quite succeed at showing us why the world needs a curved phone. While we saw some boons to the curve, the unwieldly size, low resolution, middling software and disappointing camera meant it wasn’t the holistic tour-de-force it could have been. It was more marketing gimmick and cool tech demo than something you’d want to call your everyday phone. A year and half later, enter the G Flex 2. Many of the releases were heavily technical and reporters failed to relate just how important they were to the masses. Last night, John Oliver released the latest episode of ‘Last Week Tonight,’ his weekly satirical news show that tackles serious issues with a comedic angle. In this week’s installment, Oliver traveled to…

Madonna to premiere her new video on Meerkat, despite signing the Tidal declaration last week

madonna meerkat
Madonna the Millennial is upping her social media game to the next level. Not satisfied with having premiered her last music video, “Living for Love,” on Snapchat Discover earlier this year, the Queen of Pop has announced that her next video will make its debut on the internet’s premier music outlet: Meerkat. I know, we’re as confused as you are. Did Madonna miss the memo about Periscope? Or completely forgot about her dramatic declaration signing of Jay Z’s streaming service Tidal just a week ago? It wouldn’t be her fault if she forgot. Most of us probably have. To be fair, she did…
