It’s been a little over two weeks since a major public debate on the issue of net neutrality kicked off in India, and things have been hotting up ever since. We reported that the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) recently released a paper outlining the framework for over-the-top services (OTTS) like search engines, video platforms and social networks, and invited citizens to voice their opinions on the licensing of internet services in the country. Since then, savvy Indian Web users have been hard at work getting the word out. One Change.org petition has received nearly 240,000 signatures. bitcoin
This research is courtesy of Sander Duivestein, professional speaker and trendwatcher at VINT, the International Research Institute of Sogeti A symbol for ‘nothing’ doesn’t seem to mean very much, but the biography of the number ‘zero’ shows what a dangerous idea it has been since its very first creation. Rehabilitation started in northern Italy in the 13th century. Zero became the most important tool in mathematics. It enabled…

BitTorrent has released a new version of its Android app to celebrate crossing the 100 million install mark for the first time – an impressive milestone, considering Mozilla announced the same thing just last week. To give users a little reward for helping it pass that number – at the end of 2013, it had 40 million users –  the team pushed a new version of the app with an improved music player that includes cover art support and a play queue to help you see what’s coming up next. The company said it had also improved the core performance of the app,…

Want to try your hand at programming? Ruby on Rails is a great choice for first-timers: thanks to a simple code structure, it’s beginner-friendly, quick to build with and has a thriving community that actively contributes reusable code and encourages others to learn. Plus, Ruby on Rails covers both the front-end and back-end, which means that you can build completely functional apps and sites, instead of covering only one aspect of a project. It’s great for creating simple prototypes and actually bringing your complex ideas to life.   Stuk.io has 120 hours of courses for you to learn from at…
