The best backup software for Mac is now available for Windows users too. As we wrote in our ultimate guide to backing up your computer earlier this year, Arq makes it easy to back up files to any cloud service or local destination. With the new Arq for Windows you can select Google Drive, Amazon S3/Glacier, OneDrive, Google Cloud Storage or Dropbox for your backup destination. Arq costs $39.99 for a single user license and a “lifetime” license that includes all future updates is available for an additional $19.99. If you’re not already backing up off-site, it’s worth spending the money for your…

This post originally appeared on the Cloudpeeps blog. One of the beautiful things about working remotely is that it means working from absolutely anywhere, at any time. I think it’s safe to assume that’s one of the many reasons why there is 18 million independent and self-employed workers (according to MBO Partners) in the United States alone — because they have chosen…

Back in February, Dropbox released an extension for chrome to make it easy to add your files right into Gmail. The tool is today receiving some updates to make it a lot more useful. Now you can send large files more easily – just click the Dropbox icon, select your files or folders and click ‘Insert Link(s).’ Since you’re just sending a link, you don’t have use up any of your Gmail storage. Additionally, you don’t have to put multiple files in a zip file anymore. Instead, Dropbox will allow you to attach multiple files separately, which should save the…

Huawei P8 review: An underdog flagship I wanted to love, but that ended up frustrating

P8_feat
Huawei’s P8 has put me in a bit of a bind. The company’s newest flagship device, launched last month, picks up where the P7 and P6 left off, but also brings some key changes (like an improved camera) aimed at making the handset more appealing to a wider market – and therefore a more worthy competitor for the likes of Samsung’s Galaxy S6, the HTC One M9 or LG’s brand new G4. That means it has higher expectations to live up to and a higher quality bar to achieve. I’ve spent the last couple of weeks using the device as my…

A year ago, Google marked Teacher Appreciation Week in the US by announcing the arrival of Google Classroom. Today, in celebration of the anniversary, Google is adding new features to the platform, such as the ability to grade assignments on phones and give private feedback notes to individual pupils. It is also now possible to make an assignment or edit one from your phone or tablet and make personalized copies for every student. Assignments and posts can be made from photos taken on your device so it’s easy to upload anything you’ve written on the whiteboard during a class Google…
